A dangerous gap in knowledge!

In Switzerland, it is legally required that anyone wishing to obtain a driver's license must complete a first aid course. This regulation highlights the importance of being able to react quickly and correctly in traffic. However, while future drivers are prepared for emergencies in this way, there is no comparable requirement for expectant parents to attend a special child emergency course.

This is particularly worrying, as approximately 60,000 children up to the age of 16 are involved in accidents in private homes each year. These accidents often occur within the home, something many parents are unaware of.

According to the German Accident Prevention Council (BFU), the most common accident locations are living rooms and bedrooms, with around 22,000 accidents annually, followed by gardens and private swimming areas (around 12,000 accidents), kitchens (around 7,000 accidents), and driveways, parking lots and garages (around 5,000 accidents).

Young parents are often faced with the challenge of making the right decision in an emergency. Questions like "Does a cut on my finger require medical attention?" or "When should a burn be examined by a pediatrician?" occupy their daily lives and require a sound basis for decision-making.

Early first aid training for children

Learning with virtual and physical means

An online course doesn't replace a traditional on-site course with physical exercises, but we believe that repeated exposure to theoretical fundamentals is crucial for responding appropriately in an emergency. This theory forms the foundation for practical action and strengthens self-confidence in critical situations. Therefore, it's important to integrate both theory and practice to ensure optimal preparation and to be able to flexibly review the learned principles at any time.

Nationwide throughout Switzerland

It is our goal to offer the free online child emergency course in all national languages. In addition, the other materials and projects will also be created in several languages to reach a broader target group and ensure that all parents and caregivers in Switzerland have access to this important information.
